Why create product variants?



Product variants allow you to sell your products with several options. 

Here are some examples:
When selling a skirt, it will be available in several sizes from XS to XL.
The product SKIRT will therefore have a SIZE option including 5 variants (XS, S, M, L, XL).

If this skirt is also available in another color, and still with the same sizes, the product SKIRT will have two options (SIZE and COLOR) and will include 10 variants (XS green, S green, M green, L green, XL green, XS pink, S pink, M pink, L pink, XL pink).

Please note that for each variant it’s possible to set a different image and price which allows you to manage your product types as you wish.



The variants are particularly useful to avoid having to duplicate a product to be able to sell it with different options, and can be used for all types of businesses.

A grocery store can sell the same food in different volumes, a restaurant can offer different sides to a dish, etc.
