Image organization and thumbnail selection

Adding images

With GoodBarber you can add up to 25 images per product. So you have enough to present your product from every angle!
Keep in mind the technical specifications for your images:

  • Maximum weight: 4Mb
  • Recommended format: JPEG

Concerning the size of your images, there are no restrictions but be aware that if you add several images to a product, the dimensions of the first image added will define the height of your slideshow (visible by your client). Be careful when choosing your first image.

Once you’ve added all your images, you’ll be able to define the order of appearance of your photos in the slideshow. Our advice is to choose the best selling picture according to the type of product you are selling.
Try to think of the purpose of each image. The essentials for us would be:

  • an image of your product on a white background
  • a close-up image of the important details of your product
  • an image of your product in the context that highlights it

Choosing the thumbnail

You can manually choose which thumbnail will be displayed in your product listing (and on your homepage widgets). The only tip you need to keep in mind is alignment. In most cases, your product thumbnails will be visible when you display multiple products at the same time. So think about matching all the thumbnails of your different products. Images on a white background can be a good solution to avoid making mistakes.
If white backgrounds don’t suit you, try to keep a consistency, as here in our app Hunky Dory where all products that don’t have a white background are presented in a form of "pattern", in close-up.
