Online payments

When we talk about ecommerce, we inevitably think about online payments. They allow you to market your products all over the world and offer easy payment, even to your local customers.

In order to implement online payments in your app, you need to use a Payment Gateway.

Payment gateways are third-party payment service providers. They allow you to offer online payments in your Shopping apps. They may therefore charge additional fees and apply certain restrictions on products sold through their services. To put it simply, once your client has entered their payment information on your app, the payment gateway takes care of sending this data securely to the payment processor, providing you with a clear, smooth and above all reliable payment process. Using a payment gateway is essential to receive online payments.

How it works

The payment gateway takes care of the entire payment process from A to Z. It ensures the confidentiality of buyers' data by encrypting all sensitive information held in the payment card. It takes care of sending the information securely between your store and the payment processor.
Your client places an order and fills in their payment details.
The payment gateway retrieves the payment information, and sends it to the payment processor.
The client is redirected to the payment processor and completes the payment
As an e-merchant, you’re not expected to know the details of how payment gateways work. Your responsibility is to choose your payment gateway(s) and offer them to your future clients.

Disadvantage

Payment gateways are third-party services that charge different fees that may include monthly fees, fixed fees per transaction, variable fees based on a percentage of the amount, etc. They may also apply certain restrictions on the amount of the payment. They may also apply certain restrictions on the products sold through their services. We therefore advise you to read their terms of use carefully.
