Why process abandoned orders?

When a client starts an order but does not complete it, it’s recorded in the "Abandoned orders" list. You can display the details of abandoned orders and launch marketing actions to encourage clients to resume and complete their purchases. But first, let's see why it's important to recover abandoned orders.

Studies show us that 50-75% of online store visitors don't complete their order and don't make it to the checkout process. This number is impressive, and if you think about it, it's very frustrating to think that these people were interested in your items, and were very close to finalizing their purchase. As a general rule, here are the most common reasons for order abandonment:

  • They compared your prices with those of your competitors
  • The shipping costs stopped the purchase
  • They’re thinking about it

Considering that these leads were very close to making a purchase, it’s important to try to get them to finish their order.
This is the objective of the Abandoned Orders add-on which allows you, from the list of abandoned orders, to send an email, a push notification, or both, to encourage clients to finalize their order.
